It wasn’t until her crisp green eyes looked back at me fully that my heart seemed to stop.Īnd indeed we were. Her sun dappled fur looked soft and warm, my heart beating a little faster. I just was remembering the fun times, and thinking…” I looked at her more, as her mane fell over her shoulder and reflected shades of golden sunlight. “Why would you think of all that for?” She shrugged. But at least the new Princess also did it too. When we first met, the night you got sick, the last Summer Sun Celebration we held, and when you fell in my new cellar like Twilight did.” She smirked as I blushed. “Oh.” I placed my hooves down, almost against hers. “Oh no! Something’s on my face, isn’t there!?” I ran my hooves over my muzzle furiously in embarrassment. But as we sat there, close enough for me to feel the faintest wisps of her loosened mane and the warmth of her fur, I noticed her eyes fixed on me the whole time. With my goof ups and screws loose, I thought she would think less of me as time went on, and I feared the thought of losing our dear and long friendship. The orange mare with the flaxen mane may be stubborn, hard working, and less mannered, but she is down to the horseshoes the best pony anywhere. Because in all honesty, my heart pounded too loudly for my head to think straight. Now apple bucking isn’t my specialty, but I nodded with glee and decided to give it my best shot. Apple Jack never was one to ask for things, most certainly not help, yet there she stood at my front door, looking down and shuffling her hooves as she requested my presence. I didn’t expect to spend the entire day at Sweet Apple Acres, but I couldn’t turn a blind eye to friend’s plea earlier that morning. I just hummed and nodded, not paying any attention to the sky at that moment. And I didn’t want to be anywhere else as the red delicious colored sky turned behind the two of us. It was turning to evening, the sun just about to dip into setting, our great and majestic Princess preparing a beautiful night for her beloved sister. We both sat down under one of the tall, sturdy trees to rest. Looking around, I noticed her watching me, winking at my accomplishment. The sweet scent of apples blew by in the breeze as I bucked once more and heard the successful thumps of them falling into baskets. I drew my hoof over my forehead, swiftly swatting my bangs out of my (E/C) eyes as sweat dripped down my muzzle.
